Style Sayi - Niembo Méridionaux


Le peuple Hemba vit dans l'est du Congo Rdc, entre le fleuve Lualaba (fleuve Congo), à l'ouest, et le lac Tanganyka, à l'est
Leur territoire s'articule autour de la rivière Luika qui délimite les Hemba du nord et ceux du sud. Ils sont donc présents dans le sud de la province du Maniema ainsi que dans le nord de la province du Tanganyka
Ils sont géographiquement et culturellement proches des Luba


 Leurs effigies d'ancêtres (Singiti) sont célèbres. Elles représentent les chefs décédés et vénérés par la tribu, elles aident leur successeurs à légitimer leur pouvoir politique. Elles dégagent une impression de majesté et de grande sérénité.

The Hemba live in eastern Congo DRC, between the Lualaba river (Congo river), to the west, and Lake Tanganyka, to the east
Their territory is articulated around the Luika river which delimits the Hemba of the north and those of the south. They are therefore present in the south of the province of Maniema as well as in the north of the province of Tanganyka.
They are geographically and culturally close to the Luba

Their ancestors figures are famous.They represent the deceased leaders and, venerated by the entire tribe, they help their successors to legitimize their political power.They give off an impression of majesty and great serenity.
