LUBA - Rare Calebasse KABWELULU
Chez les Lubas et les Hemba, ces calebasses anthropomorphes étaient utilisées pendant les rites de divination
La demi figurine est "fétichée", des matériaux "magiques" sont insérés dans la cavité dédiée, au sommet de la tête
Les Luba sont un grand peuple de la RDC. Leurs sièges à cariatides, leurs porteuses de coupes, bâtons de chefs, porte flèches, herminettes et statuettes cultuelles sont très célèbres et parmi les objets les plus prisés dans l'Art Africain

LUBA - Rare Calabash KABWELULU
Among the Lubas and Hemba, these anthropomorphic gourds were used during divination rites
The half figurine is “fetishized”, “magical” materials are inserted into the dedicated cavity, at the top of the head
The Luba are a great people in eastern DRC
Their caryatid seats, their cup holders, chiefs' sticks, arrow holders, adzes and cult figures are very famous and among the most valued objects in African Art.
