BEAUTIFUL LUBA FEMALE CULTURAL STATUE
Beautiful very classic Luba style statue
(probably from the Middle Luvua area)
The hands are placed on the shoulders, typical and numerous scarifications, cross headdress. The patina is dark and worn in places.
The Luba are a large people of eastern DRC.
Their seats with caryatids, their carriers of cups, staffs of chiefs, arrow holders, adzes and cult statuettes are very famous and among the most prized objects in African Art.
