There face and figure stylization aesthetically gives Metoko statues an irresistible "little robot" side
Settled and settled in the middle Lwalaba region, in the heart of the equatorial forest, the Metoko would be the descendants of Lega migrants (according to the oral tradition of the Lega themselves)
Like the Lega, their political and social life is organized around an initiatory association, the BUKOTA, which can be compared to the BWAMI of their ancestors.
They are also culturally very close to their Lengola neighbors who practice the same cult as them (See Felix page 110)
