CONGO DRC
EXCEPTIONAL LAMELLOPHONE LUBA ( SANZA )
A few flaws (on the neck, in particular) but it's probably the most beautiful Sanza I've come across.
A true instrument, you can feel it was actually made to play when you pick it up. The sound box seems to be of a quality equivalent to that of our luthiers
One or two blades are missing
The Luba are a large people of eastern DRC.
Their seats with caryatids, their carriers of cups, staffs of chiefs, arrow holders, adzes and cult statuettes are very famous and among the most prized objects in African Art.
