Superb PUNU Mukuyi Okuyi mask


Very easily recognizable with their tinted faces and their characteristic scarifications, the Okuyi masks would represent the spirits of the deceased.

Very beautiful hairstyle with hulls and braids, which surrounds the entire face which expresses great serenity.
Note, a hole that crosses the mask from top to bottom, as if it had once been impaled on a stick (?)
The Punu live mainly in Gabon, but there are also communities of this Bantu people in Congo Brazzaville and Congo DRC
