Rare petit masque anthropomorphe HEMBA.
Alors qu'il est de la même taille que les petits masques zoomorphes chimpanzé Soko Motu (ou Mwisi Gwa So'o), dont certains sont anthropo-zoomorphes, celui-ci semble presque complètement anthropomorphe.
Leur territoire s'articule autour de la rivière Luika qui délimite les Hemba du nord et ceux du sud. Ils sont donc présents dans le sud de la province du Maniema ainsi que dans le nord de la province du Tanganyka
Ils sont géographiquement et culturellement proches des Luba.

Rare little anthropomorphic mask
This mask has about the same size as the small zoomorphic and anthropo-zoomorphic chimpanzee masks ( "Soko Motu" or "Mwisi Gwa So'o" ), this one seems almost completely anthropomorphic.
The Hemba live in eastern Congo DRC, between the Lualaba river (Congo river), to the west, and Lake Tanganyka, to the east
Their territory is articulated around the Luika river which delimits the Hemba of the north and those of the south. They are therefore present in the south of the province of Maniema as well as in the north of the province of Tanganyka.
They are geographically and culturally close to the Luba
