These two fetishes are obviously reminiscent of those of the AfricaMuseum in Tervuren

Extract: "Finally, certain types of statuettes were charged with a magical substance, called bijimba, generally placed in the head, the place of dreams, which fully activated its powers of divination: this is the case of a couple in the rare form preserved at the RMCA of Tervuren, one of the statuettes of which has the face and the arms turned backwards, while the torso and the legs are on the other side, forwards (fig. 26) , materializing the inversions of the spiritual and material worlds (Nooter and Roberts 2007: 50)"

The Luba are a large people of eastern DRC. Their seats with caryatids, their carriers of cups, staffs of chiefs, arrow holders, adzes and cult statues are very famous and among the most prized objects in African Art.
