This visibly ancient statue is typically in the style of the Eastern Luba. Its former owner told me that it came from a Honga workshop
Very pretty face
As often, in Luba art, the work is imbued with great serenity
The Luba are a large people of eastern DRC.Their seats with caryatids, their carriers of cups, staffs of chiefs, arrow holders, adzes and cult statues are very famous and among the most prized objects in African Art.
