The Songye are a people living in the wooded savannas of the southeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Like the Hemba, the Songye are culturally related to the Luba.
They are artistically known for their power figures, their Kifwebe masks, their caryatid stools, as well as their axes and shields.
