Société du Lilwa
Les Bambole sont un peuple dont les rites nous sont restés assez mystérieux.
La société du Lilwa ( que l'on pourrait comparer au Bwami des Lega) organisait la structure sociale, assurait la stabilité de la communauté et punissait ceux qui transgressaient (entre autres les secrets bien gardés)
Leur art est surtout connu pour les célèbres "OFIKA", sculptures de suppliciés, les masques sont plus rares
Installés dans la "cuvette centrale", ils sont voisins des Kela, des Yela, des Jonga et des Lengola

MBOLE Lilwa Society Figure
Bambole are a people whose rites have remained rather mysterious to us.
The society of the Lilwa (which could be compared to the Bwami of the Lega) organized the social structure, ensured the stability of the community and punished those who transgressed (among other things the well-kept secrets)
Their art is best known for the famous "OFIKA", sculptures of hanged criminals, masks are more rare
They live in the "central basin", they are neighbors of the Kela, the Yela, the Jonga and the Lengola
