Very beautiful sculpture, visibly old
Despite its atypical position, it brings together most of the characteristics of Luba art, superb cross headdress, hands placed on the chest, scarifications
The shoulders are spread out

The face is imbued with great serenity. Beautiful patina

It would have been carved in a workshop in the Lukuga region

The Luba are a large people of eastern DRC.

Their seats with caryatids, their carriers of cups, staffs of chiefs, arrow holders, adzes and cult statues are very famous and among the most prized objects in African Art.
