Beautiful GOMA mask
Beautiful large polychrome mask which is reminiscent of the Butende des Bembe initiation masks. Thus, the eyes are in the center of immense orbits whitened with kaolin, the decorations in the form of friezes of triangles are also present. For a similar mask, see Marc Leo Felix p33 n°1 ( see bibliography)
The Goma are few in number, their population was estimated at 5,000 people in 1987, they live in eastern Congo, a little south of the Bembe, to whom they are culturally very close, along Lake Tanganyika

Beautiful large polychrome mask that is reminiscent of the initiation masks Butende of the Bembe. The eyes are in the center of huge kaolin bleached orbits, the decorations in the form of friezes of triangles are also present.
